How to apply

There is no formal application form; both individuals and charitable organisations seeking support should, therefore, email setting out their case in the manner which they consider most appropriate, clearly and concisely outlining the facts both financial and otherwise.

All relevant supporting documentation must be attached, together with the appropriate HMRC CRS Residency Declaration and Personal Data Consent Form, which can be downloaded using the links below.

Personal Data Consent Form

The latest annual report & accounts must accompany all applications from charitable organisations.

Charitable organisations do not need to complete an HMRC CRS Residency Declaration provided that a valid registered charity number is clearly displayed in the application.

Charitable organisations operating outside the City and County of Leicester must explain carefully how the project for which funding is being sought benefits solely residents of the City and County of Leicester and how grants will be segregated from other restricted funds held.

Please contact the Secretary to the Trustees if you require further information.

When to apply

Applications may be submitted at any time.

Applications from individuals will be forwarded immediately upon receipt to Leicester Charity Link for consideration and review; a decision will be communicated at the earliest possible opportunity.

Applications from charitable organisations will be reviewed upon receipt in order to establish that they meet the Trustees’ criteria for support and are within current available resources.  Those that do not comply will be rejected and applicants informed accordingly.

Where further information is required applicants will be asked to provide this before their application can be considered by the Trustees.

Applicants are advised to allow sufficient time, at least six weeks prior to a meeting of the Trustees, for the processing of applications, the provision of any supplementary  documentation requested and the resolution of problems.

Applications, when complete, are considered by the Trustees at their twice yearly meetings (April and November) where decisions are made. Applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome immediately after the meeting at which the decision is made; awards are normally paid at the same time.
